The Ohio Psychiatric Physicians Association (OPPA) was founded in 1950 as the third district branch of the American Psychiatric Association (APA), whose more than 1,000 physician members specialize in the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of mental illnesses, including substance use disorders.
The Ohio Psychiatric Physicians Association is the professional association in the state of Ohio that focuses exclusively on the needs of physicians who specialize in psychiatry.
A major strategic goal of the Ohio Psychiatric Physicians Association is to advocate on behalf of our patients and our profession.
The OPPA offers educational opportunities specifically designed to meet the needs of Ohio's psychiatrists. We also welcome the opportunity to collaborate with others - more information can be found in our Co-Marketed/Joint-Sponsored Educational Events policy.
The Ohio Psychiatric Physicians Association is pleased to provide a variety of resources that we hope will be helpful to OPPA psychaitric physicians members as well as the general public. If there are additional resources you would like to see included in this section of our website, please contact us and let us know!
The Ohio Psychiatric Physicians Foundation (OPPF) is a non-profit charitable foundation working with psychiatrists and other medical and mental health professionals to ensure the highest quality psychiatric care for Ohioans now and in the future.
There is value in membership and OPPA offers specific, more detailed content, resources, tools, etc. that is protected and accessible only to members who are logged in on the website.
