The Court relies on independent psychiatrists to evaluate patients and provide testimony in hearings under R.C. Chapter 5122. We are currently looking to add qualified psychiatrists to our rotation and would greatly appreciate your help in sharing this opportunity within your networks or directly with psychiatrists who may be interested.
These are independent contractor positions with the Court. Physicians are assigned on a rotating schedule that is established in advance. The work generally includes reviewing patient records, conducting evaluations, and providing testimony at hearings, which are held on Wednesdays and Fridays beginning at 9:00 a.m.
Candidates must be licensed to practice medicine in Ohio, have completed an accredited psychiatry residency, have at least five years of practice specifically in psychiatry, and maintain malpractice insurance. Compensation is on a per-case basis.
I have attached the position description with additional information. Please feel free to circulate it broadly. Even if someone is not personally interested, we would appreciate their passing it along to colleagues who might be.
Anyone interested in learning more or applying can contact George Tornik at gstornik@franklincountyohio.gov
Thank you for helping us get the word out. Having a strong roster of qualified independent psychiatrists is important to the Court's ability to conduct these hearings efficiently and fairly, and we greatly appreciate your partnership.
